WHISPER GENESIS

DesignsketcheGauche.jpg

Founded by Guy Marchal, Whisper-Yachts was born from the idea of combining pleasure and comfort on the water with the environmental challenges of the future.

The yachting industry is poised to take a big step towards the reduction of greenhouse gases. Consequently, the choice of a catamaran becomes an obvious one, thanks to their ability to adapt to these new constraints while preserving all the values associated with yachting.

Offering a range of luxury catamarans that are comfortable as well as high performance, standard but customisable, and able to operate with no C02 emissions, is becoming the essential.

Aware of the growing importance of power multihulls in the future of yachting, Guy Marchal has positioned the Whisper-Yachts brand at the top end of modern ranges. Whisper-Yachts caters for boaters who want to have a yacht with the same luxurious finish as the most prestigious motor yacht manufacturers while offering much more space, stability and range than a traditional monohull.

With silent electric propulsion, we can finally sail along with just an eco-friendly whispering!

Guy Marchal

Founder

Guy Marchal, an engineer by training, president and founder of Symphony Marine and creator of Whisper-Yachts, spent ten years acquiring technological know-how with some of the major brands in the automobile industry (BMW, Renault, and Toyota, among others) before putting his experience in shipbuilding to good use over the last twenty-five years.

He has worked on large-scale projects (up to 112m megayachts) at Oceanco, Vegayachts, KuschYachts, Burger Boat and Maiora. Guy also has experience in setting up shipyards as well as in brokerage sales and marketing management. His complementary knowledge allows him to ensure the coordination and cohesion required for the development of this new brand.

To develop a product that is as attractive as it is effective, he chose the Berret-Racoupeau Design studio, which has one of the widest backgrounds in cruising catamarans and is involved in both naval architecture and interior design.

For the propulsion and energy management technology, he called on the support of Torqeedo and its global account manager, Jeremy Benichou.

Berret Racoupeau Yacht Design

The design office, initially specialized, in the sailing, racing and production boats, was created in 1978 by Jean Berret. Olivier Racoupeau graduated from the Toulouse University in mechanics and aeronautic technologies joined him in 1983. Their designs won 4 world champion titles (1984, 1985, 1990 and 1991), Admiral’s Cup in 1985 and winner the BOC in 1989-90 (single handed race around the world) and 3 times winner of the Transatlantic 6.50 so called Mini-Transat in 1981, 1984 and 1987.

In the same period, they designed many production boats for Bénéteau such as the range of “First”, and for Fountaine Pajot since 1991 with the «Marquises 56”.

Berret Racoupeau Design has designed (and is designing) most of the current Fountaine-Pajot catamaran models. The office quickly increased simultaneously with the number of boats drawn, more than 15 000 sailing today !  Olivier Racoupeau took over the company when Jean Berret retired in 2007.
